Fancy a night sleeping rough?

No? Well two of our guys recently braved a night in the frost to raise money for Framework Housing Association.

Framework set up The Big Sleep Out to raise funds and awareness for the work that they do helping homeless and vulnerable people by providing high quality housing, support, prevention, and training services.  They enable people to live independent lives by offering choice and opportunity.

Inspired by the successes we’ve seen working with them on a refurbishment at Bentinck Road, Nottingham and the stories we heard at their recent annual general meeting, Glenn Slater and Ciaran Hickey took up their challenge to experience the homeless life.

Glenn, our Business Development Director and Ciaran, one of our Quantity Surveyors working on the Bentinck Road scheme raised in excess of £550 sponsorship money for Framework, with some generous donations from many of our subcontractors.

Glenn says “the experience was quite humbling. It gave me a greater appreciation of how life must be for the homeless, living rough on our streets. I did sleep but it was more of a shallow sleep where I was aware of not being safe and feeling vulnerable. There but for the grace of God go I!!”
