Robert Woodhead Ltd swooped the winners of the EMCBE Sustainability Award 2009-10 and were highly commended in the Constructing Excellence Legacy (Sustainability) Award 2009-10
This project involves the construction of 12 dwellings to the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.
Built under the PPC 2000 Contract, the project included six 2 bedroom four person houses and six 3 bedroom five person houses in pairs. Green technologies were utilised starting from the fabric of the building with K Panels Kingspan TEK Structural Insulated Panels through to use of a biomass boiler and solar technologies. This was an ambitious build, under the principles of Passiv Haus standards which achieved the following ratings:
